Hunterston Brooch

History

The Hunterston Brooch was found near Hunterston, North Ayrshire between 1826-1830.

It probably was made at a royal site Dunadd, Argyll, AD700.

Very high status indicating the power and prestige of its owner.

On display at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Level-1, Early People.
